Overview
A combination therapy for smoking cessation that pairs nicotine (typically delivered via a skin patch) with oral mecamylamine (a nicotine antagonist). This agonist-antagonist approach works by having mecamylamine block the rewarding effects of nicotine while nicotine replacement helps manage withdrawal symptoms. Clinical studies have shown this combination to be more effective than either component alone, with significantly higher abstinence rates both short-term and long-term.
