Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nimenrix + Boostrix refers to the co-administration of two distinct vaccines developed by GSK: Nimenrix, a quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine, and Boostrix, a reduced-antigen content tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine. Nimenrix is designed to prevent invasive meningococcal disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, W-135, and Y by inducing bactericidal antibodies against their capsular polysaccharides. Boostrix is indicated for booster immunization against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. Clinical studies have demonstrated that the simultaneous administration of these two vaccines at separate injection sites is immunogenic and well-tolerated in adolescents, with no significant interference in the immune response to any of the component antigens. This combination is a standard component of adolescent immunization schedules in many regions.
