Nimesulide + pantoprazole

Nimesulide + pantoprazole is a fixed-dose oral combination of two small molecule drugs: nimesulide, a relatively selective cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) inhibitor nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Nimesulide provides analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting COX-2-mediated prostaglandin synthesis and modulating other inflammatory mediators. Pantoprazole suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+,K+-ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells. The combination is intended to provide pain relief while reducing the risk of NSAID-induced gastrointestinal side effects such as dyspepsia or ulcers. It has been studied for use in patients with osteoarticular diseases who also have dyspeptic symptoms[1][2][4][5].
