nimotuzumab + cisplatin

Nimotuzumab + cisplatin is a combination regimen of two antineoplastic agents: nimotuzumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody that selectively targets the extracellular domain of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and cisplatin, a platinum-based DNA crosslinking chemotherapeutic. Nimotuzumab inhibits EGFR signaling by blocking ligand binding and receptor activation, thereby impeding downstream proliferative and survival signals in tumor cells. Cisplatin forms DNA adducts, leading to DNA damage, apoptosis, and inhibition of cellular replication. This combination is under investigation and used for enhanced antitumor efficacy in patients with locally advanced or recurrent/metastatic cancers such as head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), and is explored in other solid tumors[2][3][4][1].
