Overview

Nivolumab + docetaxel is a combination therapy comprising nivolumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting the PD-1 receptor, and docetaxel, a cytotoxic taxane chemotherapeutic agent. Nivolumab enhances the body's immune response against tumor cells by inhibiting the immune checkpoint PD-1, thereby restoring T-cell activity. Docetaxel works by stabilizing microtubules, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. This combination has shown improved progression-free survival and overall survival in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after failure of platinum-based chemotherapy[1][2]. It has also been investigated in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) and other advanced solid tumors[3][4].
