Overview
Nivolumab + pegilodecakin is a combination therapy consisting of nivolumab, a PD-1 inhibitor, and pegilodecakin, a pegylated interleukin-10 (IL-10) cytokine. Pegilodecakin is designed to enhance immunotherapy-induced anti-cancer activity by stimulating the IL-10 receptor pathway. The combination was investigated for treating advanced solid tumors, particularly non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Patients self-administered pegilodecakin via daily subcutaneous injection while receiving nivolumab intravenously. Despite showing biological effects in peripheral blood and evidence of T-cell activation, clinical trials did not demonstrate improved efficacy compared to nivolumab alone, while showing higher toxicity rates.
