NOAC + clopidogrel

NOAC + clopidogrel refers to the combination therapy of a non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulant (NOAC) and clopidogrel, an antiplatelet agent. NOACs include apixaban, dabigatran, rivaroxaban, and edoxaban. These agents act as direct oral anticoagulants by inhibiting either thrombin (dabigatran) or factor Xa (apixaban, rivaroxaban, edoxaban), thereby preventing blood clot formation[2][5][7]. Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet drug that inhibits the P2Y12 component of ADP receptors on platelet cell membranes, reducing platelet aggregation[8]. The combination is used in clinical scenarios where both anticoagulation and antiplatelet effects are desired—such as in patients with atrial fibrillation who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention or have acute coronary syndromes.
