Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of non-pegylated liposomal doxorubicin and trastuzumab emtansine. Trastuzumab emtansine is an antibody-drug conjugate composed of the humanized anti-HER2 antibody trastuzumab linked to the cytotoxic agent DM1 (a maytansine derivative). It targets HER2-positive cancer cells, enters via receptor-mediated endocytosis, and releases DM1, which inhibits microtubule function leading to cell death. Non-pegylated liposomal doxorubicin is an anthracycline chemotherapy agent encapsulated in liposomes.
