Overview
Frewell is a Japanese low-dose estrogen-progestin (LEP) combination drug containing norethisterone (a progestin) and ethinylestradiol (an estrogen). It is a generic version of Lunabell and is primarily prescribed for the treatment of dysmenorrhea and endometriosis. The medication works by suppressing the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis, which inhibits ovulation and reduces the proliferation of the endometrial tissue. This dual action effectively alleviates menstrual pain and manages the growth of ectopic endometrial lesions. Frewell is available in two strengths: LD (Low Dose) and ULD (Ultra Low Dose), allowing for tailored treatment based on patient needs and side effect profiles.
