Overview

AFD-NP Tablets is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Anglo-French Drugs & Industries. It contains three active ingredients: nortriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant; pregabalin, an anticonvulsant and gabapentinoid; and methylcobalamin, a form of vitamin B12. This combination is primarily indicated for the management of neuropathic pain, including conditions such as diabetic peripheral neuropathy and post-herpetic neuralgia. Nortriptyline acts by inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin, thereby modulating pain signaling in the central nervous system. Pregabalin binds to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels to reduce the release of excitatory neurotransmitters. Methylcobalamin serves as a cofactor for methionine synthase, supporting nerve health, myelin sheath maintenance, and nerve regeneration.
