Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NP-G2-044 + anti-PD-1 therapy is an investigational combination treatment consisting of NP-G2-044, a first-in-class small-molecule fascin inhibitor, and a standard-of-care anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody. NP-G2-044 targets fascin, an actin-bundling protein that is highly expressed in many metastatic tumors and is essential for tumor cell motility and migration. By inhibiting fascin, NP-G2-044 aims to block the metastatic spread of cancer cells and potentially enhance the activity of dendritic cells within the tumor microenvironment. The addition of an anti-PD-1 therapy, which blocks the Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 checkpoint, is intended to revitalize the immune system's ability to recognize and destroy tumor cells. This combination is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumor malignancies, including those who have previously progressed on or are resistant to prior anti-PD-1 therapies.
