Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NY-ESO-1 protein + Montanide ISA-51 VG + resiquimod is a combination cancer vaccine formulation designed to stimulate an immune response against tumors expressing the NY-ESO-1 antigen. NY-ESO-1 is a cancer/testis antigen with highly restricted expression in normal tissues but widespread presence in various cancers, making it an attractive immunotherapy target[1][2][6]. The vaccine consists of the recombinant or purified NY-ESO-1 protein (the tumor-associated antigen), Montanide ISA-51 VG (a water-in-oil adjuvant that enhances immune responses), and resiquimod (a TLR7/8 agonist that acts as an immunostimulatory adjuvant). This combination aims to induce robust humoral and cellular immunity by promoting dendritic cell activation, T-cell priming, and antibody production against NY-ESO-1-expressing tumor cells[6]. The approach is under investigation for use in multiple solid tumors, including sarcomas, melanoma, ovarian cancer, and others where NY-ESO-1 expression is prevalent[2][6].
