A **combination therapy** consisting of obiltoxaximab, a deimmunized immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody, and doxycycline, a tetracycline-class antibiotic. Obiltoxaximab specifically binds the protective antigen (PA) of *Bacillus anthracis*, preventing its association with the anthrax toxin receptor on host cells and inhibiting toxin-mediated damage. Doxycycline inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, thereby exerting bacteriostatic effects against *Bacillus anthracis*. The combination is used for the treatment and prophylaxis of inhalational anthrax, providing both antitoxin and antimicrobial activity, and is indicated when alternative therapies are not available or appropriate. Combination therapy has resulted in higher survival outcomes compared to antibacterial therapy alone, particularly in animal models of inhalational anthrax[1][3][4][5].
