Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ocutears Aloe+ is a preservative-free ophthalmic solution containing 0.2% cross-linked hyaluronic acid and 0.1% aloe vera. It is designed to treat dry eye disease (DED) and ocular surface discomfort, particularly following ophthalmic surgeries like cataract surgery. The cross-linked hyaluronic acid provides enhanced viscoelasticity and longer residence time on the ocular surface compared to linear hyaluronic acid, while aloe vera offers soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. The product is developed and marketed by Santen and is being evaluated in clinical studies by institutions like the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
