odansetron + simvastatin

This is a combination of two approved small molecule drugs, ondansetron and simvastatin. Ondansetron is a selective serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist primarily used to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery. It works by blocking serotonin receptors in the gut and central nervous system that trigger emesis. Simvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) indicated for lowering cholesterol and reducing cardiovascular risk; it acts by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for cholesterol synthesis in the liver. This combination has been studied as adjunctive therapy in schizophrenia to target negative symptoms and cognitive deficits, based on their potential anti-inflammatory properties[1][2][3].
