Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination product containing olive oil and omega-3 fatty acids, typically formulated as a dietary supplement. Olive oil is primarily composed of monounsaturated fats (mainly oleic acid) and contains small amounts of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a plant-based omega-3 fatty acid. Omega-3 in supplements usually refers to eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids commonly derived from fish or algal oils. The combination aims to provide the cardiovascular, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant benefits associated with both olive oil’s polyphenols/monounsaturated fats and the essential roles of EPA/DHA in heart, brain, and metabolic health[4][5][6]. Some formulations may also include additional antioxidants such as vitamin E or sesame lignans for enhanced stability.
