Overview
Olvi-Vec + platinum + etoposide is an investigational combination therapy comprising **Olvi-Vec** (olvimulogene nanivacirepvec, a genetically engineered oncolytic vaccinia virus), a **platinum agent** (carboplatin or cisplatin), and **etoposide**. Olvi-Vec is designed to selectively infect and lyse malignant cells, stimulating both innate and adaptive immune responses as well as modulating the tumor microenvironment to potentially reverse chemotherapy resistance. The platinum agent (typically carboplatin or cisplatin) forms DNA crosslinks that inhibit DNA synthesis and cell division, while etoposide is a topoisomerase II inhibitor causing DNA strand breaks leading to apoptosis. This combination is currently being explored primarily for **platinum-resistant or platinum-refractory ovarian cancer** and may also be evaluated in other solid tumors such as lung cancer[1][3][9][7].
