Ombipepimut-s (DSP-7888, adegramotide/nelatimotide) + nivolumab is an investigational combination therapy for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, renal cell carcinoma, urothelial cancer, and other WT1-expressing cancers. Ombipepimut-s is a therapeutic cancer vaccine composed of synthetic peptides derived from the Wilms Tumor 1 (WT1) protein designed to elicit WT1-specific cytotoxic and helper T-cell responses, enhancing targeted anti-cancer immunity. Nivolumab is a monoclonal antibody checkpoint inhibitor targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune activity by blocking immunosuppressive signaling. The rationale for the combination is that ombipepimut-s primes the immune system against WT1-positive tumor cells, while nivolumab unleashes T cells by inhibiting PD-1 signaling, potentially resulting in synergistic tumor control[2][3][5][6]. The combination is under investigation in a Phase 1b/2 clinical trial in solid tumors and ovarian cancer. Primary developer is Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Oncology.
