Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rivcod (also known as Rivcod-400) is an oral combination dietary supplement developed and marketed by Rivchem Pharmaceuticals. It is formulated as a softgel capsule containing omega-3 fatty acids (500 mg) and vitamin E (400 IU). Omega-3 fatty acids act as agonists of free fatty acid receptor 4 (FFA4) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-alpha), which helps lower triglyceride levels, reduce inflammation, and support cardiovascular health. Vitamin E acts as a lipid-soluble antioxidant, scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) to protect cell membranes from oxidative damage and support immune function. Rivcod is primarily indicated for the treatment of nutritional deficiencies, coronary artery disease, skin disorders, fibrocystic breast disease, muscle cramps, and intermittent claudication.
