Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**OmegaD** is an investigational oral omega-3 fatty-acid softgel product developed by OmegaD for dry eye disease. Its active ingredients are eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid in triglyceride form. The proposed therapeutic rationale is systemic enrichment of omega-3 fatty acids relative to omega-6 fatty acids to modulate inflammatory and immune processes implicated in dry eye disease. OmegaD was evaluated in completed randomized, multicenter, double-masked, placebo-controlled Phase 3 studies in dry eye disease, including patients with meibomian gland dysfunction and abnormal tear-film measures.
