Omeprazole + clarithromycin + amoxicillin is a fixed-dose combination therapy used primarily for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection and the treatment and prevention of duodenal or gastric ulcers associated with H. pylori. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells. Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, while amoxicillin is an aminopenicillin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins.
