OMS906 (also known as zaltenibart) is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting and inhibiting mannan-binding lectin-associated serine protease 3 (MASP-3), an upstream activator of the complement alternative pathway. Ravulizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that inhibits complement protein C5, reducing terminal complement-mediated hemolysis. The combination aims to suppress both upstream and downstream complement activation, offering improved control of hemolysis—including extravascular hemolysis—over standard C5 inhibition alone. Clinical trial data suggest the combination substantially improves hemoglobin and reticulocyte counts, with a favorable safety profile.
