Overview
Oncogenuity is developing ONCOlogues as a gene-silencing approach to target SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA for the treatment of COVID-19 and other coronavirus infections. ONCOlogues are proprietary synthetic oligonucleotides designed to bind gene sequences significantly more effectively than native DNA, with high sensitivity to single base pair mismatches. By targeting the single-stranded RNA genomes of coronaviruses, these agents are intended to interrupt viral transcription and replication, thereby preventing viral proliferation. The platform was licensed from Columbia University and is being developed by Oncogenuity, a partner company of Fortress Biotech.
