Overview
Ondansetron + metoclopramide is a combination of two antiemetic medications used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting. Ondansetron is a selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist, while metoclopramide is a dopamine antagonist and prokinetic agent. This combination has been studied for post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV) and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). Studies suggest that the combination may be more effective than either agent alone in certain clinical scenarios, particularly after sleeve gastrectomy.
