Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rabimits-OD is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed by Mits Healthcare, containing the proton pump inhibitor (PPI) **rabeprazole** and the antiemetic **ondansetron**. Rabeprazole works by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system (the gastric proton pump) in the parietal cells of the stomach, thereby suppressing both basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion. Ondansetron is a selective serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist that prevents nausea and vomiting by blocking serotonin receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) and on peripheral vagal nerve terminals. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and acid-related dyspepsia, particularly when these conditions are accompanied by nausea or vomiting.
