Overview

Opevesostat + docetaxel is an investigational combination therapy studied primarily in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. Opevesostat (code name MK-5684) is a novel oral small molecule whose mechanism involves targeting pathways in advanced prostate tumor biology (precise target undisclosed in public sources). Docetaxel is a well-established cytotoxic chemotherapy agent that inhibits microtubule depolymerization, arresting cell division and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. Combination studies of opevesostat with docetaxel are underway to assess whether their co-administration is more effective than standard monotherapies or other combinations for improving survival and slowing cancer progression in advanced prostate cancer.
