Optifree RepleniSH, developed by Alcon, utilizes the TearGlyde reconditioning system (including Tetronic 1304 and C9-ED3A) along with Polyquad (polyquaternium-1) and Aldox (myristamidopropyl dimethylamine) preservatives to maintain moisture and disinfect lenses. ReNu Multiplus, developed by Bausch + Lomb, contains Hydranate (hydroxyalkylphosphonate) for protein removal, poloxamine for wetting, and Dymed (polyaminopropyl biguanide) as a disinfectant. The study conducted by the University of Waterloo (NCT00415376) evaluated the effects of these care regimens on corneal and conjunctival sensitivity and staining in soft contact lens wearers with myopia or hyperopia.
