Overview

Orca-Q is a proprietary, precision-engineered investigational allogeneic T-cell immunotherapy developed by Orca Bio. Unlike conventional allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplants that utilize a heterogeneous mix of cell types, Orca-Q features a fully defined composition of stem and immune cells. This composition includes purified hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs), invariant natural killer (iNK) cells, regulatory T cells (Tregs), and specific CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell subsets. The product is manufactured by depleting naive T lymphocytes, which are primarily responsible for graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), while retaining cell populations that facilitate graft-versus-leukemia (GvL) and graft-versus-infection (GvI) effects. Orca-Q is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials for the treatment of high-risk hematologic malignancies, including relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, to improve transplant outcomes by minimizing complications and maximizing anti-tumor activity.
