Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OSP:rTTHc cholera conjugate vaccine without aluminum + Euvichol-Plus is a combination vaccine regimen being evaluated for the prevention of cholera. It consists of an injectable conjugate vaccine (CCV) and a bivalent inactivated oral cholera vaccine (OCV). The CCV component, developed by the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) in partnership with EuBiologics and Massachusetts General Hospital, features the O-specific polysaccharide (OSP) from Vibrio cholerae O1 Inaba El Tor strain conjugated to a recombinant tetanus toxoid heavy chain fragment (rTTHc). This specific formulation excludes aluminum adjuvants. Euvichol-Plus is an established oral vaccine containing inactivated V. cholerae O1 and O139. The combination aims to provide both systemic and mucosal immunity to enhance protection in endemic regions.
