Oxaliplatin + levo-leucovorin + fluorouracil + bevacizumab, commonly referred to as the mFOLFOX6 plus bevacizumab regimen, is a standard-of-care combination therapy used primarily as a first-line treatment for advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer. The regimen integrates three small-molecule cytotoxic agents—oxaliplatin (a platinum-based DNA crosslinker), fluorouracil (an antimetabolite nucleoside metabolic inhibitor), and levo-leucovorin (a folate derivative that potentiates fluorouracil)—with bevacizumab, a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). By combining DNA damage and metabolic inhibition with the anti-angiogenic properties of bevacizumab, the regimen aims to inhibit tumor growth and vascularization. In clinical development, it is frequently used as a comparator arm in Phase III trials, such as those conducted by Suzhou Suncadia Biopharmaceuticals, to evaluate the efficacy of novel additions to the standard-of-care backbone.
