Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Oxycodone + paracetamol (Laboserve) is an oral liquid formulation of the fixed-dose combination of oxycodone, a semi-synthetic opioid agonist, and paracetamol (acetaminophen), a non-opioid analgesic and antipyretic. Developed by the Greek CDMO Laboserve (Labomed), this formulation is intended for the management of moderate to severe pain where an opioid is appropriate. Oxycodone acts primarily as an agonist at the mu-opioid receptors in the central nervous system, inhibiting ascending pain pathways and altering the perception of and response to pain. Paracetamol provides complementary analgesia through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes and modulation of central serotonergic pathways. The oral solution dosage form is specifically developed to facilitate administration in patients with dysphagia or those requiring flexible dosing titration.
