**Terramicina** is a prescription topical fixed-dose antibacterial ointment containing oxytetracycline hydrochloride and polymyxin B sulfate. Oxytetracycline is a tetracycline antibiotic that reversibly binds the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit and inhibits aminoacyl-tRNA binding, suppressing bacterial protein synthesis; polymyxin B binds bacterial membrane lipopolysaccharide and disrupts membrane integrity.
