Drug intelligence / Profile preview
P1-(5'-Adenosyl)P5-(5'-(3'azido– -deoxythymidylpentaphosphate is a synthetic dinucleotide analog in which adenosine and a modified thymidine (bearing an azido group at the 3’ position and lacking the normal hydroxyl group there) are linked via a pentaphosphate bridge. It is classified as an experimental small molecule and has not been approved for clinical use. The compound has been used primarily as a biochemical tool to study nucleotide interactions with enzymes such as thymidylate kinase but does not have any known therapeutic indications or established mechanism of action in humans[2][4].
