**Paclitaxel + carboplatin + iniparib** is a pharmaceutical combination regimen used in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced, persistent, or recurrent uterine carcinosarcoma and has been studied in other advanced solid tumors. Paclitaxel is a microtubule-stabilizing agent that inhibits cell division, carboplatin is a platinum compound that causes cross-linking of DNA to inhibit replication, and iniparib is an investigational agent initially thought to inhibit poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), though its mechanism has been shown to be controversial and may not be a true PARP inhibitor[1][2][3][4][5]. This regimen was administered via intravenous infusion in 21-day cycles; trials found expected hematologic toxicities but did not demonstrate sufficient antitumor activity to warrant further development for carcinosarcoma. Iniparib, developed by BiPar Sciences and later Sanofi, was investigated primarily as an adjunct to platinum-based chemotherapy in various solid tumor indications.
