This combination chemotherapy regimen consists of paclitaxel, carboplatin, and topotecan, and was specifically evaluated by the Fox Chase Cancer Center in a Phase II clinical trial. This intensive approach was designed to treat extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and carcinoma of unknown primary, aiming to overcome drug resistance in metastatic settings.
