Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Paclitaxel + docetaxel in the context of NYU Langone Health refers to the taxane chemotherapy component of a Phase II clinical trial (NCT03742986) investigating neoadjuvant treatment for inflammatory breast cancer (IBC). In this study, patients receive either paclitaxel or docetaxel (depending on HER2 status and clinician choice) in combination with the immunotherapy nivolumab, followed by doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide. Both agents are small molecule microtubule stabilizers that inhibit cell division by binding to tubulin. The trial aims to improve pathological complete response rates in this aggressive form of breast cancer.
