Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination chemotherapy regimen was evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial conducted at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for the treatment of relapsed and refractory aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). The regimen consists of **paclitaxel**, a microtubule-stabilizing agent that arrests the cell cycle in the G2/M phase; **topotecan**, a topoisomerase I inhibitor that induces lethal DNA double-strand breaks during replication; and **filgrastim-SD/01**, a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) used as supportive care to accelerate neutrophil recovery following intensive chemotherapy. This salvage therapy was specifically developed for patients who had previously failed standard anthracycline- or platinum-based chemotherapy regimens.
