Overview

A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of paclitaxel protein-bound (nab-paclitaxel) and liposomal doxorubicin. Paclitaxel protein-bound is a formulation where paclitaxel particles are bound to human albumin, eliminating the need for Cremophor solvent used in conventional paclitaxel. Liposomal doxorubicin encapsulates doxorubicin in liposomes to reduce cardiotoxicity. This combination leverages complementary mechanisms of action: paclitaxel disrupts microtubular networks essential for cell division, while doxorubicin damages DNA. The combination shows synergistic effects with enhanced bioavailability, circulation time, and targeted delivery to tumor tissues.
