Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PAK-20 + Oniater is a combination therapy developed by the Knowledge Research and Innovation Center (KRIC) in Pakistan for the treatment of COVID-19. PAK-20 is a polyherbal formulation containing extracts from 20 different herbs, while Oniater is a natural product derived from a single herb with purported antiviral properties. The combination was evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials (NCT04449445) to assess its efficacy and safety in patients with mild to moderate COVID-19. The therapy is intended to provide a synergistic effect by inhibiting viral replication and modulating the host's inflammatory response. While the specific molecular targets of the individual herbal components are not fully characterized in standard pharmacological databases, the treatment aims to improve clinical recovery times and reduce the severity of symptoms in patients infected with SARS-CoV-2.
