Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PALA (N-(phosphonacetyl)-L-aspartic acid) + fluorouracil is a combination therapy that works through biochemical modulation. PALA is an inhibitor of aspartate transcarbamylase that depletes uridine nucleotide pools, which selectively potentiates the antitumor activity of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in preclinical models. The combination has been studied in various cancer types including colorectal, pancreatic, and breast cancers with varying response rates.
