Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Palopegteriparatide (TransCon-PTH) is a long-acting, transiently pegylated prodrug of parathyroid hormone (PTH[1-34]) developed by Ascendis Pharma. It is designed to provide sustained release of active PTH within the physiological range over a 24-hour period, acting as a once-daily hormone replacement therapy. Palopegteriparatide is approved under the brand name Yorvipath in the United States, European Union, and other regions for the treatment of adults with chronic hypoparathyroidism. By restoring physiological levels of PTH, it normalizes serum and urinary calcium, as well as serum phosphate levels, and reduces the need for conventional therapy with active vitamin D and calcium supplements.
