Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pam2CSK4 + ODN2006 is a synergistic combination of two synthetic Toll-like receptor (TLR) agonists: Pam2CSK4, a diacylated lipopeptide that activates the TLR2/TLR6 heterodimer, and ODN2006 (also known as CpG 7909), a Class B CpG oligodeoxynucleotide that activates TLR9. Developed primarily as a preclinical research tool and investigational immunomodulatory therapy, this combination is designed to stimulate the innate immune system of the lungs. Upon inhalation or local administration, it activates lung epithelial cells to produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antimicrobial peptides, providing broad-spectrum, pathogen-agnostic protection against bacterial, viral, and fungal respiratory infections. Preclinical studies, particularly at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, have demonstrated its efficacy in models of pneumonia and influenza-associated pulmonary aspergillosis (IAPA) by reversing immune paralysis and enhancing the recruitment of macrophages, natural killer (NK) cells, and T cells.
