pamidronate + zoledronic acid

This represents a combination of two bisphosphonate medications: pamidronate and zoledronic acid. Both drugs inhibit osteoclast-mediated bone resorption and are used to treat bone-related conditions. Pamidronate is administered as a 2-hour intravenous infusion, while zoledronic acid can be administered as a 15-minute intravenous infusion. They are used for treating hypercalcemia of malignancy, bone metastases, multiple myeloma, and other bone disorders. Comparative studies have shown that zoledronic acid (4 mg) is as effective as pamidronate (90 mg) in treating skeletal metastases, with zoledronic acid having the advantage of shorter infusion time.
