Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination digestive enzyme preparation containing pancreatin and enzymes derived from the fungus *Aspergillus oryzae*. It is designed to facilitate digestion across a wide pH range by utilizing the different optimal pH environments of its components. The *Aspergillus oryzae* component, which contains cellulase, protease, and amylase, is active in the acidic environment of the stomach. The pancreatin component, containing lipase, amylase, and protease, is typically enteric-coated to ensure release in the alkaline environment of the small intestine. This dual-action formulation is primarily indicated for the treatment of dyspepsia, pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, and digestive symptoms associated with chronic pancreatitis, biliary tract disease, or post-operative digestive disorders.
