Overview

This refers to the monovalent pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccines utilized during the 2009-2010 pandemic, specifically within the context of a multicenter cohort study (NCT01023243) led by Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP). The study evaluated the clinical effectiveness, safety, and immunogenicity of these vaccines in patients with cystic fibrosis, including high-risk subgroups such as infants, pregnant women, and lung transplant recipients. The vaccination program employed both adjuvanted and unadjuvanted formulations (such as Panenza). These vaccines work by inducing neutralizing antibodies against the viral hemagglutinin of the A/California/07/2009 (H1N1)pdm09-like strain, thereby preventing infection and reducing the severity of the disease.
