This combination was investigated as first-line therapy for advanced or metastatic oesophagogastric adenocarcinoma. The REAL3 phase 3 trial evaluated this regimen but found no improvement in overall survival with the addition of panitumumab to epirubicin, oxaliplatin, and capecitabine compared to chemotherapy alone.
