Overview

Panitumumab + rilotumumab is an investigational combination therapy consisting of two fully human monoclonal antibodies. Panitumumab targets and inhibits the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), thereby blocking EGFR-mediated signaling pathways involved in tumor cell proliferation and survival. Rilotumumab targets hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), inhibiting its interaction with the MET receptor, which is implicated in tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastasis. This combination has been studied primarily in patients with wild-type KRAS metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) to assess whether dual inhibition of EGFR and HGF/MET pathways can improve clinical outcomes compared to monotherapy or other combinations[1][5]. The combination was evaluated for safety, tolerability, objective response rate, progression-free survival, and overall survival.
