Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Salipro Biotech-Pannexin 1-CNS Pain is a preclinical therapeutic program developed by Salipro Biotech in collaboration with an undisclosed partner. The program targets Pannexin 1 (Panx1), a transmembrane protein that forms large-pore channels responsible for the release of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and other pro-inflammatory mediators. By inhibiting Panx1, the drug aims to mitigate neuroinflammation and pathological signaling associated with chronic and central nervous system (CNS) pain. The development leverages the proprietary Salipro® platform, which stabilizes membrane proteins in their native-like lipid environment to enable the discovery of ligands against challenging targets like ion channels and transporters.
