Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anamol MR is a combination oral pharmaceutical product developed and manufactured by Universal Corporation, primarily marketed in the East African region. It consists of paracetamol (acetaminophen) and chlorzoxazone. Paracetamol serves as an analgesic and antipyretic agent, functioning primarily through the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. Chlorzoxazone is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant that works by inhibiting multisynaptic reflex arcs at the spinal cord and subcortical levels of the brain. This combination is indicated for the symptomatic relief of painful musculoskeletal conditions, including muscle spasms, sprains, strains, and back pain, where both pain relief and muscle relaxation are required.
