Drug intelligence / Profile preview
paracetamol + ibuprofen (LMX-100) is a fixed-dose combination analgesic developed by Acura Pharmaceuticals utilizing their proprietary Limitx technology. This technology is designed to provide effective pain relief at therapeutic doses while reducing the risk of hepatotoxicity and other adverse effects associated with overdose. Limitx incorporates acid-neutralizing ingredients that, when multiple tablets are ingested simultaneously, increase gastric pH and trigger the formation of a polymer matrix that slows drug release and absorption. While primarily indicated for the treatment of acute pain, Acura positions LMX-100 as a non-opioid alternative intended to help mitigate the opioid crisis by providing a safer, non-addictive option for pain management, thereby reducing the necessity for opioid prescriptions.
